CGC University Mohali introduces the Capgemini CodeXperience Centre, an industry-integrated learning hub offering 180 hours of corporate training, live projects, and placement opportunities for B.Tech CSE and ECE students.
Engineering education is evolving rapidly, and students today need more than classroom knowledge to succeed in the technology industry. Recognising this shift, CGC University Mohali has introduced the Capgemini CodeXperience Centre, a unique industry-integrated learning facility designed to prepare students for real-world IT careers.
Developed as a Global Capability Centre for Capgemini’s own hiring needs, the CodeXperience Centre brings structured corporate training directly into the university environment. The initiative is designed for students pursuing B.Tech Computer Science Engineering (CSE) and B.Tech Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), helping them build industry-ready skills alongside academic learning.
By combining academic coursework with professional training, the centre creates a seamless pathway from campus to corporate careers.

A Corporate Environment Inside the Campus
Unlike traditional computer labs, the Capgemini CodeXperience Centre replicates a real corporate technology environment within the campus.
Students work with industry-standard tools, structured workflows, and project-based learning models that mirror the practices followed in leading technology companies. Training is delivered by Capgemini professionals using the company’s proprietary syllabus, ensuring alignment with global technology standards.
With a capacity of over 500 students, the CodeXperience Centre is the largest structured industry-integrated learning facility at CGC University Mohali and represents Capgemini’s first and only lab of its kind in North India.
The centre is designed around a simple idea — students should experience the professional world before they graduate.
Structured Training Designed by Capgemini
One of the defining features of the CodeXperience Centre is its structured training model.
Students undergo 180 hours of training every year, ensuring continuous skill development throughout their academic journey.
The training includes:
-
4 hours of offline training every week
-
2 hours of guided online learning
-
Sessions conducted by Capgemini professionals
-
On-campus practical learning
-
Exposure to real-world project simulations
This structured format helps students gradually build technical expertise while keeping pace with their academic curriculum.
Learning Through Real Projects
The CodeXperience Centre focuses on learning by doing.
Students gain hands-on experience through live project simulations that reflect real industry requirements. These projects help students understand how enterprise-level software solutions are designed, developed, tested, and delivered.
Through these experiences, students develop practical knowledge that goes beyond theoretical concepts.
They learn:
-
How real IT projects are executed
-
How teams collaborate in professional environments
-
How enterprise workflows operate
-
How software solutions are tested and deployed
This exposure makes students more confident and technically prepared for professional roles.
Building Skills That Employers Value
The Capgemini CodeXperience Centre focuses not only on technical knowledge but also on professional readiness.
Students develop strong foundations in:
-
Coding and programming
-
Debugging and testing
-
System design concepts
-
Analytical thinking
-
Problem-solving skills
Alongside technical expertise, students also gain important workplace skills such as:
-
Team collaboration
-
Professional communication
-
Time management
-
Workplace discipline
-
Understanding corporate culture
This balanced skill development ensures that students are prepared to perform effectively in professional environments from the very beginning of their careers.
Strong Placement Advantages
One of the biggest advantages of the CodeXperience Centre is its direct connection with industry hiring.
Capgemini plans to hire more than 500 students every year, making the centre an important pathway to employment for engineering students.
Students benefit from:
-
Direct hiring opportunities through Capgemini
-
Access to 10+ partner companies
-
Early identification of high-performing students
-
Stronger resumes with live project experience
-
Better interview preparation
-
Improved technical assessment performance
These advantages significantly improve students’ chances of securing roles in core IT and technology domains.

Preparing Students for Day-One Readiness
The Capgemini CodeXperience Centre reflects a growing trend in higher education — integrating corporate training into academic programs.
Instead of waiting until graduation to experience the professional world, students gain exposure from the early stages of their academic journey.
This approach helps students transition smoothly from university life to corporate careers with confidence and clarity.
Through this initiative, CGC University Mohali ensures that its engineering graduates are not only academically qualified but also professionally prepared — ready to contribute from their very first day in the workplace.
