NEET Dress Code 2024: NTA New Rules for Male & Female

NEET dress code for female and male candidates is to wear simple clothes and avoid added jewellery, or any accessories. NEET Dress Code for Male 2024 

The dress code for males and females varies vividly. Therefore, let us take a look at the NTA NEET exam dress code for male candidates:

• The male candidates should avoid wearing full-sleeve shirts and t-shirts as penned in the dress code for NEET.
• Candidates are advised to wear half-sleeve T-shirts or shirts.
• The candidates should focus on wearing light clothes and avoid wearing anything that has pockets and embroidery.
• The candidates can wear trousers and pants while kurta pyjamas, track pants, and jeans are not allowed.
• The candidates should not wear layers of clothing.
• Shoes or any closed footwear are not allowed. It is preferable to wear sandals.

NEET Dress Code for Female Candidates

NEET dress code for females 2024 confines the type of apparel that is allowed just to avoid any sort of hassle on the NEET exam day. The details of the NEET dress code 2024 for females are as follows:

• NEET dress code for female candidates specifies that they should wear half-sleeved clothes and avoid clothes with long sleeves.
• Candidates are advised to wear light clothes and avoid embroidery, pockets, flowers, brooches, etc
• Track pants, jeans, leggings, and skirts must be avoided.
• The layering of clothes must be avoided.
• Heels and shoes must be avoided. They are advised to wear low heel footwear or sandals.
• The candidates should avoid wearing any form of jewellery like earrings, nose rings, rings, bracelets, or a pendant.

NEET Dress Code for Candidates with a Customary Dress

Candidates who have to abide by their religious commitments are allowed to wear their customary dress under NEET exam dressing code, but they should mention it while filling out the application form and choose the option “Customary Dress”. The website would provide them with an image as a reference for an indication of what clothes they are going to wear at the test centre. The Sikh candidates are allowed to wear their traditional turban while the Muslim women are allowed to wear burkha. They should also reach the venue an hour early to avoid hassles during security check-in.

Additionally, the candidates will need to report to the exam centre minimum 2 hours before the exam starts to complete the process of checking. 

Prohibited Items under NEET Dress Code 2024

NTA lists out the guidelines for the dress code for the NEET 2024 examination based on several items that are barred from being used in the examination hall. They are:-

• Any item like textual material (printed or written), bits of papers, Geometry/Pencil Box, Plastic Pouch, Calculator, Pen, Scale, Writing Pad, Pen Drives, Eraser, Calculator, Log Table, Electronic Pen/Scanner, etc.
• Any communication device like Mobile Phone, Bluetooth, Earphones, Microphone, Pager, Health Band, etc.
• Other items like Wallet, Goggles, Handbags, Belt, Cap, etc.
• Any Watch/Wristwatch, Bracelet, Camera, etc.
• Any ornaments/metallic items.
• Any food items opened or packed, water bottle, etc.
• Any other item which could be used for unfair means, by hiding communication devices like a microchip, camera, Bluetooth device, etc. 

Note: Candidates carrying any of these items will not be facilitated with the option to keep it safe. 

List of items allowed inside the NEET 2024 Exam Hall 

For candidates wondering what items are allowed in the NEET 2024 Exam Hall, take a look at the list below. These are the only few items that NTA recognizes to be essential during the examination and hence are allowed into the exam hall:

• Face mask
• Hand gloves
• Sanitizer
• Water bottle (Transparent)
• NEET 2024 admit card
• ID Proof (With photo) - Aadhar card, ration card, PAN card, passport, License, or another government-authorized document. 

NEET 2024 Exam Day Guidelines

Students need to maintain and follow certain guidelines for NEET 2024 apart from all the information regarding NEET dress codes and prohibited items mentioned above. We will take a quick look into those guidelines in the below points:

• Time will be announced by the invigilator at the beginning, at the middle, and at the end of the examination.
• The answer sheet needs to be signed by the candidate at the beginning of the exam as well as at the end of the exam.
• A ballpoint pen will be provided to every student by the centre.
• Candidates can break the seal of the question booklet five minutes prior to the exam to check any discrepancies within the booklet. Candidates must ensure that the test booklet contains the same number of pages as mentioned on the cover of the test booklet.
• Fill in all the details on both sides of the OMR answer sheet mandatorily.
• You need to ensure that the code written on the test booklet is similar to the one provided on the answer sheet enclosed in the test booklet.
• You have to bring (1) NEET 2024 Admit Card (2) A photo-id proof( government authorized) (3) A passport size photo (same as the application form) (4) A PwD certificate for those who are eligible, in the examination hall.
• The examination centre may have someplace to store all the extra belongings or may not have. Safeguarding those items is your own responsibility.
• Candidates will not be allowed to leave the exam centre before the exam concludes. OMR sheet has to be handed over to the invigilator before leaving the exam hall.
