Sardar Patel College of Engineering was established in 1962. It was founded by Kulapati Dr. K.M.Munshi.The college was named after the eminent nation builder of independent India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The college is affiliated with the University of Mumbai for full-time degrees, part-time degrees,s, and postgraduate degree courses.

Sardar Patel College of Engineering is one of the top five institutes in the state and stands as a pillar of quality education. The college has created more than 7000 Graduates and around 100 Post Graduate Engineers. The college offers undergraduate,  postgraduate, and doctoral programs in various engineering disciplines.

• For B.Tech, the candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics & Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subjects with a minimum of 50% marks (45% marks for Backward class and PWD candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) in the above subjects taken together.

Sardar Patel College PG Eligibility Criteria 

• Candidates must have passed Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of Engineering and Technology from AICTE or Central or State Government approved institutions or equivalent, with at least 50% marks. (45% for backward categories and physically disabled candidates)
• Candidates having a valid GATE score 
• Students appearing for the Final year of graduation are also eligible. They must make sure they have their documents ready for verification within the given deadline by the college.

• Candidates should hold a Master’s Degree/ M.Phil. Degree in relevant discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 55% marks (general category) or 50% marks (Reserved category).
• The applicant should be a teacher having full-time teaching experience of at least two years in Degree College or five years in Junior College.

SARDAR PATEL COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING APPLICATION PROCESS 2026

Candidates require to fill out the online application form for admission by logging in using their IDs which are specified when they are applying for the exam being directed for the course. The admission fee for various courses will be based on the Sardar Patel College of Engineering fee structure.

Steps to Apply

• Step 1: Visit the official website of the University of Mumbai.
• Step 2:In the ‘Latest New's section, click on the Ph.D. Entrance Test link. 
• Step 3: Then click on the PET Ph.D. Application link and click on the ‘Apply Online link. 
• Step 4: After successful registration, login ID and password is generated. Enter the login ID and password to fill out the application form. 
• Step 5: After entering all the details, print your filled application form for future reference. 
• Step 6: Appear for the examination.
• Step 7: The candidates who have qualified in the entrance test will be called for an interview/viva-voce. 
• Step 8: The merit list for the M.Phil./Ph.D. program shall be prepared by the University, on the basis of the performance of the candidate in the entrance test and the interview/viva-voce.
