JEE Main Exam 2026: Session 1 Paper 2 Result (Out), Session 2 Form Correction (Feb 27-28)

JEE Main paper 2 results for session 1 is released at jeemain.nta.nic.in. To download the scorecard, you must use your credentials and log in to your account. The session 2 JEE Main registrations will conclude on Feb 25, 2026 and the correction window will be active from Feb 27-28, 2026. The final JEE Main answer key for session 1 Paper 2 is released in the official website.on Feb 23, 2026. 

The JEE Main result was released in the form of a score card later on the same day. JEE Main session 1 exam 2026, conducted from January 21 to 28, 2026, witnessed an impressive participation with 13,55,293 registered candidates, out of which 13,04,653 candidates appeared for the exam, resulting in a remarkable attendance rate of 96.26%.

A total of 12 students achieved the perfect 100 percentile score, with 11 toppers from the General category and 1 from the OBC-NCL category. The gender-wise distribution revealed that out of 13,55,293 registered candidates, 8,87,476 were male and 4,67,817 were female. Among those who appeared, 8,55,085 were male candidates and 4,49,568 were female candidates. Notably, the top female candidate was Ashi Grewal from Haryana, who achieved an impressive 99.9969766 percentile.

However, it's important to note that 68 candidates had their NTA scores withheld as they were found indulging in unfair means practices or discrepancies during the identity verification process, underscoring NTA's commitment to maintaining examination integrity. The final JEE Main 2026 ranks will be released after considering the best of two NTA scores from both sessions of JEE Main 2026, in accordance with established policy.

What are the New Initiatives Taken in JEE Main Session 1 Exam 2026?

As per the recent result notification released by the NTA, the following are the new initiatives taken by the authorities to ensure transparency and fairness in the exam process. 

• OTP-based Aadhaar E-KYC Authentication: For the first time in JEE Main history, NTA introduced OTP-based Aadhaar E-KYC as the key method for authenticating candidates during the registration process. This initiative aims to prevent impersonation and address potential criticisms in future examinations, marking a significant step towards strengthening the verification process and ensuring only genuine candidates appear for the examination.
• Enhanced Biometric Security: NTA implemented a double-layer biometric verification system where candidates were subjected to biometric attendance and frisking not just at the initial entry point, but also when re-entering from bio-breaks or toilet breaks. This enhanced security measure ensures no candidate substitution occurs during breaks, maintaining examination integrity throughout the entire testing duration.
• Advanced Surveillance Technology: The examination centers were equipped with cutting-edge security infrastructure including live CCTV surveillance with analytics performed across all centers, AI-based video analytics and virtual observers for real-time monitoring, and the latest 5G jammers installed at all examination centers to prevent unfair practices through mobile phones or any other electronic devices. This comprehensive technological approach significantly reduced the possibility of malpractices during the examination.
• Centralized Monitoring: A central control room was established at NTA headquarters to monitor and facilitate the smooth conduct of the examination on the ground, enabling live viewing of remote locations of all examination centers from the Control Room located in the NTA premises of New Delhi. The recording of CCTV footage was systematically used for post-examination analysis to identify any acts of malpractices, ensuring accountability and transparency throughout the examination process.
• Enhanced PwD/PwBD Support: The NTA constituted a dedicated PwD/PwBD committee and implemented comprehensive policies as per RPwD Act 2016 and guidelines for writing examinations by Persons with Disabilities. PwD/PwBD candidates were allotted to specially designated PwD/PwBD-friendly test centers with appropriate organizational support, ensuring equal opportunity and accessibility for all candidates regardless of their physical abilities.
• Transparency Measures: In an unprecedented move towards transparency, the Question Paper and recorded responses along with the provisional Answer Key were displayed on the NTA website for verification by examinees immediately after the examination. After thorough verification by Subject Experts, the Revised Answer Keys were published on the website, allowing candidates to understand the evaluation process and ensuring fairness in the scoring system.
• Comprehensive Exam Functionary Training: To ensure flawless execution of the examination, an extensive orientation training programme was conducted for all examination functionaries in online mode for three consecutive days before the start of the examination. Approximately 1,400 exam functionaries attended the orientation training session, ensuring they were well-prepared to handle various examination scenarios and maintain the highest standards of conduct.
• Massive Deployment of Personnel: NTA organized a comprehensive deployment of examination personnel with various exam functionaries including 311 City Coordinators, 726 Observers, 311 flying squads, and 215 representatives of certain Central Government agencies deputed for examination duties across various cities and centers. This extensive human resource deployment ensured proper supervision, quick resolution of issues, and maintained examination standards across all centers nationwide and internationally.
• Important Advisory and Instructions: To make candidates and their parents fully aware of the rules and regulations of the examination, comprehensive "Important Advisory and Instructions to the candidates for JEE (Main) 2026" were included directly in the JEE Main admit card 2026. This proactive communication approach ensured that candidates were well-informed about examination protocols, reducing confusion and helping them prepare better for the actual examination day experience.

The JEE Main 2026 exam will be conducted in online computer-based test (CBT) mode. The exam consists of two papers, is Paper 1 for B.E./B. Tech aspirants and Paper 2 (2A & 2B) for B.Arch and B.Planning aspirants.

How Many Attempts Are Allowed for JEE Main 2026?

You can attempt the JEE Main exams 6 times for three consecutive years, as the exam will be held in two sessions each year. You can choose to appear in either one session or both sessions. The following are the criteria you must consider:

• If you appear in both sessions, the best of the two scores will be considered for ranking.
• You can attempt JEE Main for three consecutive years after passing Class 12.
