Maharashtra Animal and Fisheries Sciences University, [MAFSU] is one of the pioneer institutes in the field of Veterinary Research in India. University was officially declared in 2000 and was formed out of four Agriculture Universities in the state by transferring five Veterinary Colleges, one Dairy Technology College, and one Post Graduate Institute of Veterinary & Animal Sciences.

• October 17, 2022: MAFSU Maharashtra Admission 2022-2023 are open for BVSc & AH Courses. The last date to Apply till October 21, 2022.

MAFSU offers UG, PG, Ph.D., and Diploma courses. From the very beginning itself, MAFSU made notable progress in developing Fishery Faculty and strengthening Dairy Technology Faculty by constituting two new fisheries colleges and one dairy college in Udir and Nagpur respectively.

India’s highly specialized and privileged departments like the first Veterinary Nuclear Medicine Centre VNMC in Mumbai, Embryo Transfer Technology Laboratory, and Mineral and Hormonal Assay Laboratory at Akola, Swine Fever Surveillance Centre at Nagpur, etc. are coming under the MAFSU.

The research wing of Maharashtra Animal and Fisheries Sciences University is keenly focused in the field of animal, dairy, and fishery sciences with the help of the latest technologies to enhance the product quality and safety of the livestock products without compromising animal welfare. The MAFSU Admission is based on a merit basis in the previous qualifying exams. MAFSU Fees:

• The course fee of B.Tech for four years is INR 20000.
• M.Tech course fee for two years is INR 24000.
• Bachelor of Fisheries fee for four years is INR14000.
• Bachelor of Veterinary Science [B.V.Sc] is INR 50000 for five years. 
• Master of Fisheries Science [M.F.Sc] is INR 20000 for two years.

 MAFSU Infrastructure Facilities:

The colleges under MFASU has highly specialized departments with modern amenities. Some of them are listed below.

• In the year 2001, the University established a Library and Information Centre. 
• The library has an expansive collection of 41312 books and 740 e-books on Animal Science, Fisheries, and Dairy Technology, 31 Print Journals, 25 e-Journals, 5125 Back Volumes. CDs/DVDs and encyclopedias are provided to the students.
• Through online all constituent colleges can access the central library facilities.
• Inflibnet, Sristi, Niscair, Deline, etc are some of the e-resources of the library, which help the students and research scholars for their instructional purpose. 
• Bioinformatics Centre, high-end research labs, Digital classrooms and placement, and training centers, Dairy plants are the other attractions of the Infrastructure Facilities of the University.

MAFSU Admission Procedure:

MAFSU admission process is strictly based on the merit that a candidate obtained from the previous qualifying examinations except for B.V.Sc. After submitting the application form, concerned departments will display the merit list on the college website. Shortlisted candidates will be informed and the allotment procedure will be held on a stipulated date.

There are no payment and management seats for any of the courses under MAFSU and its constituent colleges.

To get admission to B.V.Sc. candidate has to appear  MHT-CET entrance examination conducted by the Maharashtra government and obtain a fair score.
