About NIT Agartala

National Institute of Technology Agartala, or NIT Agartala, is a public institution located in Jirania, Tripura. Established in 1965 as Tripura Engineering College, it was granted NIT status by the Government of India in 2006. NIT Agartala is recognised as an Institute of National Importance under the NIT Act with approvals from AICTE and UGC.

NIT Agartala has 13 academic departments offering UG, PG, and doctoral programmes across engineering, science, management, and information technology.
